H.E.R. has had a great year, and she’s only just getting started.
H.E.R., (the stage name of R&B singer Gabi Wilson), will perform at the upcoming 61st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony. The 21-year-old from California is nominated for five awards, including “Best R&B Album” and “Album Of The Year” for H.E.R., as well as “Best New Artist.”
Earlier this month, the first crop of Grammy performers were announced. H.E.R. joins the likes of nominees Cardi B and Janelle Monae, to name a few. The three artists are all up for the biggest honor of the night, Album Of The Year.
A past VIBE NEXT featured up-and-comer, H.E.R. (which stands for ‘Having Everything Revealed’), is grateful and enthusiastic for the new experiences her music career has lead her to.
“I mean, there are definitely times where I’m like, oh shoot, I’m tired,” she said of her back-to-back time on the road. She performed a multi-date solo tour, The Lights On, right after accompanying Bryson Tiller and Metro Boomin’ on their 27-date Set It Off Tour. “But I’m so thankful for all of this stuff that I’ve been waiting for such a long time. I’d rather be busy than be bored.”
